Progress:
My principal motivation for considering church planting is a positive one (such as the glory of God and the salvation of people) and not dissatisfaction with my current situation:
I believe that church planting is the primary God-ordained strategy by which He accomplishes His will, advances His kingdom and glorifies His name:
I believe and have experienced the gospel as the "power of God for salvation", able to not only save me from sin's penalty but also from sin's power over my life:
I am currently building multiple relationships with the unchurched in order to bring them to Christ:
I have had enough exposure to church planting in a context similar to what I am considering that I know what the life of a church planter is like:
I am assured of God's call to church planting instead of pastoring an established church:
This past year I pursued more learning on church planting through reading, seminars or meeting with a mentor:
I can articulate clearly what gifts and personal characteristics I possess that would make me effective in church planting in the type of community I am considering:
I relate well with non-Christians and I am able to accept them joyfully into my life and the community of faith:
My spouse and family are willing, even enthusiastic, about doing church planting:
I have the spiritual disciplines (consistent devotional life, freedom from patterns of besetting sin, good accountability relationships) necessary for being a spiritual leader who is above reproach:
I thrive and am highly energized by maintaining a hectic, demanding schedule:
I display self-management disciplines (getting work done on time, keeping commitments, consistency, honesty) that will encourage others to trust my leadership:
I perceive my primary role as the church planter would be to train, equip and release people to do ministry:
I am considered a people person (good listener, teachable, patient, warm, sensitive, winsome):
People tend to sit up, listen and come back when I preach, giving evidence that my preaching and communication gifts are strengths (above average):
Spiritually wise, influential people in my life who know me well tell me that church planting is right for me:
I have a positive track record in activities I have started and led, giving evidence of my ability both to lead people AND raise up leaders:
Times of disappointment and struggle usually strengthen my resolve to continue to follow God's call on my life:
I have gospel-confidence (both humility and boldness) that, in light of my calling, ministry experience, gifts and skills, I will be effective in church planting:
