SendRDU exists to equip people, through the local church, to plant churches. If you feel called to plant a church, check out our training programs below.
How do I know if I am called to plant a church?
Church planting is the most effective way to see people and communities transformed by the gospel. But church planting is not easy. It requires calling, character, and competence. We recommend you read about assessment before pursuing training. Learn more »
Church Planting Residency (NA)
A full-time, 9-month residency at the Summit Church in Raleigh-Durham for lead planters. Participants receive a realistic experience of life and ministry in a church planting church while preparing to plant a church in North America. Residents receive assessment, training, and ongoing coaching through SendRDU and associated networks while recruiting, fundraising, and developing the strategy for the future plant. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be sent out to plant.
Who can apply?
Applicants should demonstrate the calling and capacity to be the lead planter of a church, be about a year from planting, and have proven ministry experience.

Participants benefit from the experience of those who have planted churches and the community of their peers. Cohorts typically run for a semester to a year at a time.
Who qualifies for Cohorts?
Potential participants should demonstrate potential in their calling, character, and competency to be a lead planter of a church.

Church Planting Cohorts (International)
International Cohorts are for individuals who aspire to go overseas as part of an international church planting team. Cohorts are groups of 8-12 led by experienced church planters that meet monthly to equip you to be a disciple that makes disciples that plant churches. Cohorts meet monthly for coaching, support, and practical training. They typically run for a semester at a time. We encourage you to get into a cohort 1-2 years before you plan to go overseas.
