Why Indianapolis?

Indianapolis has always served as a hub city for the Midwest. It is the 12th largest city in the country, with a combined metro area population of more than 1.7 million people. Over the last decade, the greater Indianapolis metro area has experienced significant growth, economic prosperity, and cultural development. According to Forbes magazine, Indy’s population has increased at a rate of 50% higher than the national average, specifically in the demographic of young, educated families. Despite the population surge, the number of evangelicals remains small: only 10-15% of Indy residents claim evangelical status, and more than 1 million people are unaffiliated with a church of any kind.

Brandon is a native son of Kentucky. For the last decade, he has had the privilege of preaching Jesus and equipping families to make Jesus the central focus of their homes. Brandon is the happy husband to Emily and proud daddy of three children – James, Cooper, and Lilly Claire. Brandon is author of Perspectives on Family Ministry, and has published several articles relating to the family. Brandon earned a B.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Kentucky, M.Div & Ph.D in Leadership from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY.

Get Involved

We’re looking primarily for two groups of people:

1. People who will go. We are building a team of people to help plant this new gospel work in Indy (several have already joined). Brandon and his team are asking God for 30 people to partner with them in this journey. They’re looking for families, college students, and young professionals who will move, get a job, and be a missionary to this great city that desperately needs the gospel
2. People who will connect. Maybe you can’t go but you know people looking for a church in Indy that you could help connect to Soma. You can partner with us to connect those people.
